Coral inspired generative art

I wanted to share some coral inspired art. These are procedurally generated. Each one has its own DNA that describes how it is generated. Here are a few examples of interesting individuals. If you're interested in seeing more, I've set up a Twitter account to tweet a new one each day. Sometimes I manually kick off a few in addition to the 1 each day. I plan on adding more shape types and styles over time.

Very cool! Can you describe the process?

The underlying shapes are generated using cellular automata, then a style is applied to the shapes using neutral networks. You can vary the parameters of the automata to get different kinds of shapes. The style networks are trained to imitate the style of another image. Google style transfer if you are interested.
