I have an odd issue. I’ll start with a stocking list of coral.
1 zoa frag with about 8-10 polyps
1 gsp frag
1 galaxia
1 hammer
1 torch
1 duncan
1 favia
nitrates 12
Phosphates .1
Calcium 490
Magnesium 1500
Dkh 10.4
The Issue:
My Duncan, zoa and gsp don’t like to open. The favia came back from being dead and covered in algae. The hammer/torch/galaxia are all open and loving life.
The zoas will have about 4-5 different polyps half open each day. The GSP will have about 3 polyps out. The Duncan will bounce between half open and closed every few hours.
The Duncan is in the same par range as the hammer. Medium random flow.
The zoas are on the bottom of the tank on an island with direct medium flow.
The GSP is mounted on my back glass about 3/4 of the way up in high random flow.
The hammer is in the only low flow spot of my tank. The torch is in one of the most high random flow spots in my tank.
The galaxia is in the sand with medium flow.
I’m not entirely sure what the issue is for these “easy corals”. I don’t have access to a par meter for exact par measurements. I’m running 3 hydra 32s on a 6ft long by 24in deep tank at 90% blues mounted 14 inches over the water. Tank has glass lids as well. I can attach pictures if anyone thinks it would help.
