Its not possible for me to have a coral QT system sitting around so I've been thinking about a way to get around this.

This is my 6 feet tank.

I am thinking of a small custom tank out of acrylic or glass. It will sit in the sump but it will be a separate system itself. I am expecting pest to stay in the coral QT.

The hottest days here in Asia are 95 degrees. I will be running a chiller for my main tank tank but I am not sure if this is enough to maintain its temperature.

Any fellow reefers here to shed some light?

So you want to put a tank inside the sump ??
Why not just set up the QT else where ?

Haha I know somebodys gonna ask.

I can't. Wife says no.

If your planning on keeping it in the sump temp shouldn’t be a problem but what did you have in mind on filteration?HOB?

I am planning to have hob filter or one of those sicce adv in tank filter.

Frankly, I’d be very concerned about aerosol transmission of ich and velvet parasites. They can travel up to 10 feet in aerosolized droplets.

Discuss it more with your wife. Explain that having a full system of dead fish that has a large monetary and emotional worth would be far worse than having to deal with seeing another system.

Besides, you could make a really beautiful display out of a coral QT if you set it up with care

The parasites are airborne? [emoji45]

Also... you will need proper lighting on the coral QT for the corals just like you would need for them to survive in the display tank.

It might cost you another piece of jewelry, but maybe the wife can be convinced, lol.

I have an AquaKnight readily available.

Yes. I should start a new thread asking reefers their way of convincing their spouse.
