Bought this new coral closed up, but it was super cheap and figured why not.. but not 100% sure what it is. Any guesses? I thought it may have been a Kenya tree closed tight, but then again it doesn't look like mine closed up. But what do I know? Not a lot. That's why I'm here. Hahah.

Take a picture with less blue or with the flash turned on. Hard to tell what you've got as is. :)

Looks like some type of leather coral. I'm no expert on soft corals so hopefully someone else can chime in. But I'm guessing leather.

I think you need to find a new coral store lol
Nah, we go to a decent store. We just randomly go an save coral from petco as a stupid cheap price. Because why not? They don't know how to take care of most things they get, so we like to try random things out. Lol. We don't buy our coral typically like that.

Looks like purple finger leather
It opened up about a day later. Still not exactly sure of what it is, but it's looking good. Definitely saved it.

The best way to confirm Kenya Tree identification is when you see them creeping around the kitchen at night, raiding the fridge for leftovers.

You will soon have lots of them. :)
Unfortunately, very true. I wish I hadn't got that 1" free frag years ago..........
