Yeah that's exactly what I did the in tank media rack with a Chemipure Purigen and that on the top level i ran filter floss that I replaced daily. Recently I drilled the tank though and now I have a sump. If you would like the media rack I would be happy to send it to you as long as you covered shipping after you received it

Man, really sorry to hear about the rocks leaching. That's such a bummer. The most frustrating thing about this hobby is that sometimes the only or best thing you can do wait. It certainly teaches you patience but not always in fun way ;/

My readings aren't that bad. Nothing that I can't handle.

I have been using RSCP salt and my kH, pH, Calcium are all good. My Mg reading has been 1550-1600 for a while now. Not sure if that's a bad thing.

More the second part. You run a tunze, you will have to cut if not you're good.

Well when you fit both in you will not be able to squeeze them in without trimming the plastic horizontal peice coming off the wall in chamber 2 . You only gotta cut it off the chamber 1 to 2 wall on the chamber 2 side. Then you can fit a tunze with magnet extender and the basket in chamber 2 . I did it easily with a box cutter. If you have a dremel even easier

Look at your back chambers
See the overflow one? Far right from the front side of the tank.

Now look at the wall where the water spills into chamber two. See how only half the space is usrd? Cut that tab with a box knife to allow more flow from chamber 1 to chamber 2. It is required for the flow director which hits the top if the media basket.

I actually cannot fit the tunze on the other side of chamber 2. It hits my light bracket.

That's why I am looking into an HOB skimmer. Will free up that compartment.
