Corals are amazing and forgiving. Here are three pictures that tell both a sad and happy tale.

Chalice from February 2017.

Here is the same Chalice showing signs of life after I managed to kill it along with a number of other corals by starving my tank.

Close up of a recovering edge.

Another shot showing a recovering spot in the back along with the skeleton remains of the coral on the right.

At one point, I almost removed this rock to sun bleach it. Obviously I'm glad I didn't.
BTW - I am told this chalice is Hollywood Stunner but I'm not sure. It doesn't have green eyes. Thoughts?

They absolutely are at times. How did u starve your tank?
Yeah hollywood has a thinner skirk, and the eyes are pretty bright.

To me, my coral does NOT look like the HS but I can't figure out what it is. I was trying to kill off GHA. I was under-feeding and over-skimming.

Kinda looks like a HS but not healthy. I too have one that started as a tiny bleached white frag and I saw it go through a pretty radical color change. At one point the eyes were orange and looked awesome. I think if you get it healthy you will find the eyes will eventually turn neon green.

I spoke with the reefer who gave me the frag. He said it is not the HS. He no longer has it but said it might be the Tyree Blue Chalice. Bingo!!!

The coral in the first picture was grown from a 1/2 dollar size frag to about 10" in diameter in less than a year.
