Hello good afternoon I noticed every time I get new coral for the first 3-4-5 days there great and open but then some of them start to close and not do as great Any idea what it could be my calcium is 450 and my Alkalinity is 3.75 please let me know

To tell you the truth, I think it happens to everybody, sometimes the place you bought it from had problems or the wholesaler had problems, my best luck is when I bought corals from my local area reef club guys, it's made up of reefers just like you and me.

Hello! ^This value seems unreasonably low to me. Could you test again?

Sorry might of said the wrong thing but I circled how much I got

Can we see a tank pic? How old is the tank? What kind of lighting and flow do you have? What is the nitrate and phosphate levels?

We need all the info and visual clues to help you.

I been having same problem as you, I am a rookie still learning with corals. I never had luck with Zoas, so I gave them another shot after being told their easy coral.. looked good first couple days then closed.. just yesterday after making a post etc, I changed my lighting schedule. What I thought was low PAR, was extremely low Par. Now they are getting atleast 200PAR and more of the zoas are starting to open! Same with my other corals too. Luckily I have a par meter but if you dont a lfs should rent them, if all parameters check out.

I would bump your light’s intensity up, usually that is the cause of the issue, if you have normal parameters
