corals which not handle Bayer dip

hello ;)
reading @psxerholic thread , found out that Ice Fire Echinata can not handle Bayer dip - there’s noted “ they do not handle dips very well at all “ and Andre wrote “That's right, I have to do a long but careful dip and if needed, surgery as well. Echinata tend to have worms in the skeleton. I do Bayer and a separate dip in Interceptor which takes a few hours in separate containers.”
Can someone explain what “long and careful” dip means ? Also is there any other species that should be avoided Bayer dip?

Hello,
In my experience most smooth skin Acro’s struggle with most dips. Personally, I only use Melafix for dipping Acro’s. It’s effective & pretty gentle for the corals.

Sounds good. I mainly like Melafix over Bayer because it’s more natural & does not cloud the water, enabling me to see if any pests are at the bottom of the white bucket. Many people love bayer but Personally I’ve used Melafix to fight off aefw & Melafix worked great!

Tagging along. I have also not had any coral that did not take the dip well.

Some browning out on a few sensitive maris ones, but that could have been anything (transport, parameter changes between systems, etc). Nothing their respective captive grown specimens couldn't handle :)

I have never had a smoothie respond poorly to a bayer dip. I use a lot of bayer, too. I use so much, that I warm it up to tank temp because it can drop the temp in the mixing bucket.

I just float it to get the temp up and then glug some in. I do not even measure it. I am sure that it is more like 20% bayer and 80% water if I get a piece that I am worried about... never any issues.
