Could I use hydra 26 HD for fuge?

I’m going to be upgrading my Hydra 26 HD to a 32 HD in another month or so and I’m using a super budget Home Depot special grow light for my refugium. I was thinking if I use the purple, red and green spectrums and use the 26 HD for my refugium and get better chaeto growth. Would this ultimately work?

Well yeah it’s a little overkill but I won’t have any additional usage for it. So I might as well give it a new job to do.

I would sell it in that case and continue with the HD grow light.

I understand it may not be necessary, but if I was going to use it, what settings would you recommend?

Use whites, reds, and maybe a little blue.

the problem with using a 26 over a lamp designed for the sump is its just not very waterproof. I've had to replace a 26 from a fish splashing. My sump light now is caked in salt and gets wet if my protein skimmer gets too full and I dont notice. Just doesn't seem save to use a hydra down there
