Hello I bought some frags today and I'm wondering what this piece is and what the purple algae looking stuff is on it. Note it is orange around the frag now but was not when I bought it. Thank you

Some macro algae fluoresce when the start to die or are stressed. My dragon breath did at least... I'm thinking that's what the orange is.

Oh yeah that purple algae is a real pain. Just a heads up. I have friends whos tanks are over run with that stuff and have a hard time dealing with it. I would certainly get rid of the algae immediately if that is the only location in your tank.

Thank you so much, it does look very sad and that is why I got it with a reduced price along with this guy only paid 10$ for both.

My blue velvet has been eating in along with coral beauty which seems strange , I will get it out tomorrow. Thank you
