Hi everyone,

Feels like a bit of a stupid question, but how are torch heads counted?

In the attached photos what are actual heads and what ate mouths?

Thanks!

Apologies, the actual photo. Is the red encircled a mouth or a head?

Heads are independent and not connected aside from a branch/trunk.

If it’s still fused and you have two mouths people call this splitting heads.

Example - my grail looks like one big head. Because it is. But it has 5-6 mouths.

If you look when closed up you can see the shape. Instead of 1 becoming 2 then 2 becoming 4…this guy just decided he’s going to go from 1 to 5+. All these bulbs will pinch off and become their own heads on their own stalks but for now it’s technically a single head torch that’s splitting into 5 heads

The purple gold torch below it looks like 4 heads, it is growing traditionally. 1 head split into a Y shape and made 2 heads. And each of those is splitting into 2 but they aren’t completely independent yet. It’s a 2 head torch splitting into 4
