Hello R2R! I need to move some SPS colonies around as they are shadowing some prized smaller colonies and causing color change due to lack of light.
I have a birds nest coral that has conveniently grown as a plateau off the back of my rock; i'd cut it out but since it grew up and outward off the rock it created a ledge. My thought process is to trim it down as even as possible and cover a large area with putty creating a flat surface to mount a softball sized acro colony. The birdsnest is solid as can be and seems just as sturdy as rock.
Would this be a bad idea? Has anyone ever grown corals over deal ones?
