Crab broke chalice

So my Halloween hermit crab decided to get on my chalice and broke off a peace off it . Will it Be okay ?? Will it heal properly , and will the frags make it I didn’t see any eyes or mouths on the broken peaces ....

Yes, most likely they will be fine and grow new eyes for you. Just keep an eye on them. This is one reasons I don’t keep any crabs or hermits in my tanks. I’ve witnessed hermits ripping coral flesh apart to get to food. People say keep them well fed and they won’t do that but these things eat all day long.

I am glad to hear it will be okay ... hopefully I get new little frags .... Lol they are well fed I make sure of that after I heard of that. but that Halloween hermit crab has gotten the habit of walking on coral he is in the sump in the rock rubble...
he is now munching thru the macro algae probable eating pods..
He will leave happy there I bet ... he can walk and eat whatever he wants down there i don’t care ‍

I would have got some crab boil ,, nice looking chalice ,, want to sell a frag :)

If it was growing good, and healthy to begin with it should repair its self here shortly(a few weeks). Same with the frags, as long as they were “good” pieces, you’ll have more colony’s before you know it!

So, thank the crab for the “extra” corals, or for the “extra” money when you sell them...HAHA
