This guy popped out of a live rock that I was moving in a tank that hasn't had any new additions in 8 months. His shell is about 3/8" across. The rock was aquacultured in the Gulf. Any ID would be appreciated.

My guess would be a color variant of Mithraculus forceps. I have one in my tank as well from my KP rock

Looks like a Mithrax. They eat everything from leftovers to algae. Very rarely a problem. Should be fine .
