Hi guys I currently have 1 blue legged hermit crab in my tank and I’d like another hermit but not the same type as I want them to distinguishable any suggestions my tank is 10 gallons

red leg? Hermits will generally not fight with other species unless they need a new shell and there are none available. Just make sure the type you choose is reef-safe.

yes, they are similar size, just make sure it's truly red-leg. There is another variety that has red legs with orange accents, they grow quite large.

I have 5 or 6 small blue legged hermits in my 11 gallon cube. They do wrestle with each other from time to time, but I have never had one kill another or even a snail. I do keep a ton of extra shells all around on the bottom, and they will change into them all the time. They have been in there for 8 months and have been really good tenants.
