Crack in bottom corner thoughts?

Guy wants to sell this for about 500 bucks with the stand and the sump. He said he had it up for six months no problems. He did some silicone resin seal on it and hasn’t had an issue. I haven’t went and looked at the tank yet, but it doesn’t look like there’s any running cracks, but I just don’t know how trustworthy I can be a back crack And since it’s in that corner did that glass bonding resin he used stability or was that pointless?

What brand is the tank? Size/dimensions?
I wouldn’t chance it, I know they use some form of resin to repair windshields but those don’t have the pressure of x-amount of water pushing on it constantly.

I wouldn't chance it, any amount of water is a lot of water if it's on your floor

It's one thing to say repair your own tank and keep it running. It's another to buy a used tank with the issue. I would put your money elsewhere.

Don’t do it!!! You will never be able to relax with that thing filled. It’s not worth it to save a few dollars.

I dont know what others have said - I would answer a strong no - it's not worth the cost savings, and you can't really see the extent of the damage. That is not the way to repair a corner crack.

However - if you think the stand and sump are 'good' - it may be worth it, use the sump and stand - and get a new tank to fit the stand (if its a standard dimension)

Edit - I would also lower the price.

That thing is only good for dirt and plants. Maybe a snake. I would not consider that an aquarium anymore.

The first tank I bought got a chipped in transport ,I figured I'd fill it too see if it held water as a test and.........while filling it up thoughts of " that's a good amount of water that may possibly burst and wind up on the floor" quickly gave me instant anxiety, IMO not worth and who knows what flex can happen in transport that may progress the chip. Good luck with the decision!

Good catch.
OP I would haul it away for him if you need a tank for reptiles. I have two redsea tanks and just broke one down due to a failing seam. I wouldn't buy a new one much less a used one.
