Hello. Today I found this creature stuck to a pump. It is a white soft cocoon. Can someone tell me what it is? and what action should I take. Thank you.

Looks sort of like a wrinkled up peanut worm. Not 100% sure though. Normally peanut worms live in crevices, but I see rock near the pump so maybe the creature was pulled toward the pump. Just an idea.

Peanut worm indeed.A Sipunculid species of some sorts.When these feed they contract theyre bodies and the internal pressure forces a long tapered end called an introvert to expand.It un rolls from the outside making it look like pushing the finger out of a glove.It is harmless.

I just found one yesterday in my tank! needless to say this was my face :jaw:
My purple tang and midas blenny were chasing each other trying to rip it from one and another mouths. I thought a maggot fell into my tank and started inspecting my ceilings for holes but found nothing......
FEW is all I have to say!

Looks cool! However, not sure the danger it could pose to your tank if left alone so I would have to agree take it out!!

I know a lot about Hawaiian species and I've never seen this in any Hawaiian waters that I dive or Hawaiian tanks I've had.

Strangest peanut worm I've ever seen! Lol. I've had a couple in the past never harmed anything.
