It’s an acropora crab, lives within branches of sps corals.

Its was in a rr acro colony. Never caused a problem to previous person, but. I need to be certain?

You may have answered your own question.
If it not been a problem, maybe no reason to expect one now.
I am always in favor of keeping things alive.
So I would sump him if you feel he is or will be a detriment.
