I got a new emerald crab last Friday that I suspected wouldn't last long, since I saw it nibbling on palys and even RFA tentacles same day it went in.
Came in on Monday to this on my clam:
I wasn't 100% ready to accuse the emerald, so kept my eye on it throughout the day. Once I saw it catch a torch tentacle and stick the end in it's mouth, the tongs came down on it.
Here it is trying to look like a hard worker (in truth, it was an EXTREMELY hard working emerald and decimated a lot of the bubble algae over the weekend).
My question is, what will happen to the clam? I know they tend to be quite sensitive. Will it recover, or is this the type of injury that is prone to infection? What would you do? The clam is quite an important member of my tank. Thanks!
