I was just at my LFS and they had this really pretty anemone labeled as a colorado sunburst, just curious if you all agree that it is, and if I should refinance my house to buy it.

It's the best pic I could get.

Anemones are so flaky. I guess if you were a veteran anemone keeper you could buy it and be confident in your purchase. For me, $50 is my limit on anemones. I’m not that knowledgeable about them yet to mortgage my house!

Haha yeah at $2000 I'm not planning on buying it, I was just curious if people thought it was real because I have never seen one in person. As usual the picture really does it no justice.

Saw 3 at RAP Orlando. The tentacles look like they were on fire. They were super bright orange. I have never seen anything like it.

In order for me to purchase a CSB at current retail prices, it would need to come with some sort of lineage verification. Of course, that means trust in the seller, but these days there are quite a few reputable folks selling them.

The nem in the photo has the correct attributes of a CSB (most notably the yellow tips) and given the fact that you are in CO, I'm guessing that it may be the real deal, but again, I would need more proof than just saying it is one (it needs a good backstory). There are a lot of "wild" nems that look a lot like CSBs but because they were recently collected, they can't be called CSBs.

I would worry that after paying that money and bringing it home it would lose its coloration. I wonder if the coloration is depends lot on water quality or the type of light

A true CSB shouldn't lose color, but it may change color. What's key for me is that the yellow tips remain. I've seen CSBs that morph to a more yellow color, while some change to more reddish, but the yellow tips are always there.

Good info, I use to shop at the store owned by ki, he is the guy that apparently "created"? For the lack of a better word the CSBs. He closed up shop years ago and im not sure if he ever opened a new store front. He was a stand up dude that really cared about what he did. Wish I knew i'f he was still around.
