I have about 80lbs of old rock from my old tank about three years dry sitting in my garage. Obviously the rock needs to be rinsed thoroughly before use but I am wondering how to approach it. I have plenty of time to cure it so I don't wish to use any of the bleach/acid methods. I planned on using tims nitrifying bacteria when i start my tank back up. My question comes in if I use dr. Tim's one and only do I need to cure the rock for 8 weeks prior, or just rinse the rock up before I add it to my set up tank and just add the nitrifying bacteria.

I would say yes. In fact I would encourage to cure them longer. If you want sps , I would also say mix it with some LRs.
