As the title states. When I posted this I typed the big blue A store. Now there is an Amazon link instead of what I typed and also my ability to edit the post has been removed. I think its pretty crappy if any reference to Amazon is removed without my permission and a link inserted. I also don't appreciated my ability to edit my post has removed after my post has been edited by someone else. Maybe I'm misunderstanding this? @revhtree

It seems to be something automatic built into the forum. If you say the word “amazon” it turns into a link. It looks to me like it might be an affiliate link

also post editing seems to have restrictions on parts of the site based on membership level

I did not say Amazon. I'm aware of that forum feature and it's why I typed big blue A instead of the word Amazon.
The fact I can no longer edit that single post but I can still edit my others is a bit concerning also. Hopefully I'm just over reacting and there a logical explanation.

You can't edit your post because the edit timer expired. The link replacement is automatic, but not heuristic or phrase based as far as I know. But, maybe it is.

My supporting member badges are gone so perhaps that has expired and my ability to edit with it. But I can still edit a thread from February 2024 . Also doesn't explain why the text in my post was changed.

Thread started 2024 that I can still edit .

This is not confirmed anywhere as far as I have seen but my observation has been that the edit timer restrictions do not apply to build threads

I can if you want but @AlyciaMarie has contacted me via PM and I think she has it figured out. I'll be sure and update and not leave this hanging.

Ding ding we have a winner. That does appear to be the case. AlyciaMarije seems to think me typing a capital A in the middle of a sentence triggered the forum software to insert the Amazon link

So it appears I did over react and for that I apologize and I'm glad to have it explained. Now I just need to pony up for another supporting membership or I'm going to have to spend more time proofreading before clicking lol.
