Current orbit marine light questions

I am relatively new to this and want to set up a small 29 gallon tank (30Lx12Wx18D). Mostly looking at fish, inverts, and softies to start with.

Are either of these lighting options good enough.

I will be getting the 24 to 36 inch model. I do not have any options for hanging lights at this time where the rank will be setup. I need lights that have legs and can rest on tank.

They are fine for softies and lps, not sps though imo.

I use them and they work fine. I like the ability to control the lights and what colors they are, however the instructions aren't 100% clear. You kind of have to read them a few times to understand.

with the new "IC Loop" lights "PRO" just means TWO light instead of one.
both models you linked to are identical.
one is a kit with other extras included (blutooth module), the is just the basic light kit.

If you stay in the hobby long enough you’ll upgrade them at some point I absolutely guarantee it. That’s being said, these are good lights. But as Bulk Reef Supply says, it’s always better to go ahead and spend the money up front because it’ll save you money in the long run. What’s an extra hundred or so when you can have the same light for years? Just my thought on it.

I agree with this statement, however I understand sometimes people are on a tight budget. I wish I could have afforded something such as the Kessil or something, but sometimes you just have to go with what you can afford. I know in the future I will more than likely upgrade, but im happy with my purchase for now! :)

I understand the buy once cry once thought behind buying products. I have plenty of expensive hobbies. Just ask my wife. Lol.

I just can’t afford a super expensive light right now and want to get my tank up and running and not save for another few months.

I just am not sure if I should go one light or get the two light combo.

I have two 48" ones on my 55 and I would vote to get two. However, something to think about my tank is 13"W and with two lights it can be a pain to work around. I'm not sure if you are buying the bracket arms or putting them directly on top, but either way they will take up a lot of space.
