The Mandarin Paradise IM Lagoon 25G Setup

Has this tank gone defunct? Over a month with no updates?

Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. 😉

The tank has been doing ok but I have been running into some issues. I think it may be tied to my phosphates but a lot of the corals have been looking unhappy other than the euphylia. The acans and zoas seem to have shrunk. The phosphates have increased. I am changing around 15% of the water per week and the parameters seem to have been very stable. I am not exactly sure whats going on. I will have to post an update later. I was worried that maybe it could be stray voltage but I am not exactly sure how to test it without spending $150 dollars on a device.

I sure do hope you have the tank grounded.

Stray voltage can be checked with a multimeter I believe.

Yeah I just bought a cheap one on amazon just in case. I looked at the items I added into the tank for rust and I don't see any. I also used some Polyfilter which usually changes colors if there is something that should not be in the tank. It is just so strange.

^ 100% this...

So I got a multimeter and V was around 2.7 which from my research is totally normal (anything under 5 it seems is fine.)

I think it may be either since I started using the auto feeder the phosphates spikes a lot and causes a lot of coral stress as they did seem to increase a good amount or maybe the light and flow changes from the new lid was negative. I did check par but I need to recheck it, I just would be shocked as I have some of the same corals in my other tank that are in much higher par and doing totally fine.

Still testing

Ok, it's been nearly a month again.

Any progress?

Great thread! I'm setting up an IM 25 gallon lagoon too and learned a lot!
The member whose thread this is went missing back in April. Unfortunately, he has not been seen since.

However, my friend @steveschuerger has the same tank that's set up very nicely. Steve's thread is below.

Oh man! Hope everything is OK @TheNative192

Thanks for pointing me to Steve's thread! Interesting read! I'm hooked here at 2 am.

Im Alive! tank is going through some ugglies as I had a bubble algae and hair algae outbreak which I am managing but its starting to bounce back. All the fish are fat and happy though!
