current pet peeve

it actually me very little energy to start the thread. very little. :) i’ve also posted below the description of a pet peeve from wikipedia just so you can get a better understanding.

“A pet peeve, pet aversion or pet hate is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly irritating to them, to a greater degree than would be expected based on the experience of others.”

Didn't mean anything personal by my previous response. I understand what a pet peeve is, just trying to understand why this particular activity causes you enough irritation to warrant a conversation about it. Just seems like something odd to find annoying. Like being annoyed with how someone chews or walks.

My sister is the same way. I just chalk it up to either the person can't help it or they are rude.

Yea, often it could be the offender but I try to tell myself it's a "me" problem and people can do what they want. But sometimes that doesn't help much.

i personally find my pet peeves to be somewhat entertaining. that was the point of this thread. we are all different and it’s sometimes fun to discuss these things and keep it lighthearted.

exactly! does what other people do really affect me that much? usually not but i still find it interesting.

I look at all these things as just oddities and love to just observe. It really is interesting the strange, irrational things people do on a daily basis without realizing it. For instance, blurring out license plate numbers. Is there much a of a point in doing it? Not really. But people do it anyway. What is interesting is how they validate it. Every person seems to have a different reason to justify doing similar little actions. I sometimes catch myself doing the same thing and have to ask the question, "am I doing this out of habit/ritual or do I have a real reason to do it?" At this point, I do water changes out of habit though I probably don't need to do them as often if at all.

When people list a tank or stand for sale it's sometimes in their garage. I like to look at all the other stuff in their garage that is in the background of the picture. You see cars, motorcycles, lawn mowers, tools, exercise bikes, children's toys, etc. Not that I'd want any of it but I think it's interesting to look at.

pet peeve of the hour......

people who are selling a vehicle online and feel the need to blur their license plates. do they also blur it out when they’re driving the vehicle on the road?

I agree. Here in Oregon you can get your HAM radio call sign as a plate. I wonder if people who do it know you can look up the call sign on line at the FCC and get their name and address
