Very nice, love the overflow. By the way what is on the bottom panel that it is Gray? Looks good whatever it is.

The bottom is PVC and plywood.

Following along. I'm a few years away, but I want to have a 36x36 DT down the road. I've grappled with different overflow ideas to find the best balance between functionality, aesthetics and tank dimensions, but didn't have sense to realize that the tank's total dimensions aren't stuck at 36x36. Great idea.

I'm keeping an eye out for a splendid pair but I'll settle for just the male. Rhomboid pair, earli pair, and maybe one more pair. The rest will be anthias and so other rare fish.

Any updates? Those are some awesome dimensions for a tank. Just curious, in the 2 "dry boxes" are the holes in the bottom so you can hid all the cords?

Yes the dry boxes are going to house the mp 10s and the cords are going to drop down the holes. I'll be posting an update next week.

Hey, if you haven't already, do a google for iwagumi reef tank and find the one by Yano. Same tank and a most excellent bonsai/minimilistic aquascape

Build is on hold do to poor customer service from DSA (deep sea aquatics). The tank has some small imperfection and I'm wait to see if they are going to fix the tank.
