The best part of the build – opening the boxes to reveal all the new and shining equipment…

Contemplating where I want the sump!:decision:

It will stay below the tank, for now…

The sump is awesome and is from Synergy Reef! After seeing their thread "Synergy Reef Systems Custom Sumps" here on R2R, I had to have one.

I made the executive decision on moving the sump into my "Water Closet" which had yet to be framed.

Some picks of the build which is mostly complete, minus the ceilingtie-in, closed loop plumbing and some additional aquascaping.

Very interesting story. All very good.
What light and flow pumps you want in the new tank?
I look forward to the continuation of the epic saga.

Nice tank and sump! Also like the rockwork... very open and natural which will allow for lots of growth and swimming room! well done sir, worth the wait!

Thanks Aleks! I am using two 400 watt medal halide fixtures and four 54 watt T5 lighting (42"). The return pump is an Iwaki mag drive pump (model no. WMD-40RLXT-115) and the closed loop is running a Pondmaster Mag Drive 18. I will eventually will add two VorTech MP60s.

What is the purpose of that pipe that runs to the ceiling???
That is my closed loop as the piping runs straight up from the Mag 18 and then elbows into the canopy to the opposite side of the tank to provide some opposing flow.
