I just wanted to start a new build thread. This will be me 3rd tank that i will ne setting up and will be a upgrade from my 29g FOWLR :) well i just put money down on the custom 93g acrylic tank with center back over flow and return. The tank is 30x30x24. And im gonna run 2 24" marineland reef ready LED lights. And im gonna run 3 24" blue/violet stunner strips. Other then that the rest of the build is undesided yet.

The over flow box. Drilled for 1 1/2" drain pipe and 3/4" return which the return will split off and exit the left and right side of the over flow. Im thinking a.mag 9 should do the trick ;-)

Great tank. I LOVE acrylic, you cant beat the clarity or how light in weight they are. Looking forward to seeing some more pics of the build. Good luck and God bless.

Whats the head going to be on your return pump? Mine is about 5' with a Mag 9.5 and I had T the return line because its too much for the 1" overflow. IMO look into a Mag 7

Hmm i will be running 1.5" drop and my return will either be T'ed or Y'ed but i figured 5-6 ft of return with most of it being head pressure.

Ok ive been thinking all day about the Vortech MP40s for my tank... I think they maybe to much for my cube size so maybe 2 vortech MP10s will be a better match. I want to put the on the back wall. Any in put?

Great tank I'm looking to build a 100g shallow cube soon.
As for flow I would say 2 mp40s or two tunzes on a controller. Either way you would be getting great flow and you could always turn them down a notch.

Mp40s may be what you need for the glass thickness.
Thickness is not a issue the tank is made with 3/8 acrylic and the MP10s can handle up to 3/8 :)

Thanks :) and seems this is the million $ question haha but im looking to get random/mixed flow so a control is a must.

Both are great and reliable. For the best random flow I would say the Mp40s but that's just because I haven't dealt with the controllers for the tunzes but I will tell you tunzes are freaking beasts for flow!
I won the 6105 from the contest and man does that thing put my mp10 to shame on flow haha.

I have a mp10 on the back wall of my 45G cube. I'm thinking you would need at least two, but not sure about the 10 vs 40. I don't have many corals in but from sand I can tell I get a decent amount of flow. I believe my acrylic is around 3/8 and it works but you can tell its not the strongest connection.

My lighting... well some of it. These are the marineland reef ready led lights. They are 24" long and are mostly 10k white 1w leds so im gonna have to get some blue stunner LED strips to act as supplement lighting
