cutting bioblock

I have an issue with my marinepure bioblock fitting in my sump. I need to cut it in half. I am thinking of using a hacksaw? Has anyone done this?

I have cut several of them to custom sizes. A large knife or a razor knife work great. Just cut a little at a time to prevent too much pressure and breaking.
