While my sump / tank is dry I'm thinking of doing some modifications so I can install a Filter Roller and cutting out the dual 4" filter socks.
Currently both the main drain and the backup flow into the same "compartment" in the sump which then feed into the dual filter socks. I'm looking at cutting out the filter sock section however my question is about the backup drain.
Having the primary drain flowing to the filter roller - is it ok to just let the backup drain dump into the skimmer area and not go through filtration? Any other ideas on what to do with the backup drain?
