Can I cut a larger hole for my bulk heads? Got some leakers whenever anything is bumped in the sump. Very little room to work. I am doing a complete drain, new aquascape, and new bulk heads.

The tank is a 80 gallon cube. I make the stand myself 8 years ago.
It is a 3/4" plywood top supported by 3/4" plywood on all sides with 1"x4" internal supports inside.

IMO it should be fine as long as you're not planning to cut the support across the back and only take off what is need to gain access

Just the plywood top. None of the vertical load pieces. My gut says it would be fine, but I'd rather ask then find out the hard way!

I've had mine cut like you are planning to do for over 10 years with zero issues. what is the foot print of the cube?
