Are you using RO/DI water? Wondering whether the composition of your water is changing, winter to summer ...

Last time I had severe cyanobacteria, a three day blackout was helpful.

Can you post a photo of the offending algae? It could help a lot.

Is your tank near a window? Increased natural light could trigger similar problems, I'd think.
