Heyo!

I’ve noticed that Cyanobacteria appears more faint in the early mornings up until the first few hours of my lighting cycle. At the same time, green film algae is more easily visible. However as the day progresses, these switch in prevalence. I know vaguely about cyanobacterias metabolic functions during it’s day and night cycle, however I’m curious if anyone has any knowledge on whether performing water changes during this early morning photoperiod makes any difference on the effectiveness of a deep cleaning and water change in terms of its ability to effectively break up and export Cyanobacteria . Thank you thank you.

I don’t see any reason why water changes would have any effect on cyanobacteria. It is probably up to you to vacuum it out.

So you just leave the cyano and algae in your tank when you do a water changes, no scraping, no removal…seems effective
