Once my tank is done cycling, I am not planning on adding livestock for a couple of weeks. Is that an issue? Or do I need to add a little ammonia to keep the beneficial bacteria fed?

Either that or ghost feed.

You can choose to add nothing, but if that bothers you because you want to keep your bacteria fed, only feed them a little to avoid building up nitrate in your new system. You can be stingy, 0.5 ppm per week. For every ppm of ammonia digested, about 4 ppm nitrate is generated. Make sense?

Fish food for ghost feeding doesn’t have to be gourmet, any flakes or pellets from Petco or Walmart would be fine if you do it sparingly.

Or even a few corn flakes or a piece of dog food at this point, lol. No different than using a dead shrimp to kick things off... just need something to decay.
