Hope Lowes is close to your house! I was lucky it was only a 10min trip. Even with a parts list I had to make several trips.

14 miles!
Home Depot is 7 or 8 miles.
Used to live within walking distance of one before we moved.
Hoping for one to open up right next to our neighborhood. There are rumors.

Here's a few more pics of the "Reefugium" while we all wait for the sump to arrive. :)
I must say, Jeff does some nice work.

And if you are wondering how it works...
The water will enter from a bulkhead on the rear top right and flow through the spray bar.
On the left is an internal overflow with a removable egg crate top.
Water will flow out the bottom bulkhead and head to the sump.
The upper left bulkhead is an emergency overflow that will also drain to the sump.
Cutouts on the top are for easier access to the egg crate for cleaning/removing and a couple holes for cords from powerheads or other equipment.

Here ya go!

I got on Jeff's list back in JUNE and it finally arrived this morning. :target:
Was on a palette, surrounded by plywood, and then inside the plywood was this styrofoam box.

i-8sjGD5D.jpg

What's better than a styrofoam boat on a warm December day?!

i-X6cTzKp.jpg

What came inside the boat, of course!
This is the naked sump.
The covers, bulkheads, drains, filter media trays, etc all have to be installed.
All that stuff arrived with the refugium.

i-WpGvBhw.jpg

The only thing I'm still waiting on is the filter canisters and manifold, which will go in this "accessory rack".
I also had Jeff put in some holes to hold some john guest fittings for 1/4" water line, and also for my level sensors.
Those are for my ATO and Auto Water Changes.

i-hjmMrDr.jpg

Bottom front showing where one of the filter pad trays will go (no more socks!) and the main bulkheads for the return and the refugium.

i-Tv2JjHV.jpg

Adjustable probe holder.

Backside of the accessory rack

Etched with the build number/date.

I've since peeled off all the brown protective paper and got in place.
Now to start assembly/plumbing!

You need to be licensed to have a sump like that?

Now that is a beast! Makes mine look like a toy. That's why it took so long to get it, Jeff used all the acrylic in Colorado. You were on the list before me. He sure does pack em well doesn't he.

Yeah, took a long time. I think he had to keep moving mine off the table to get smaller projects out.
And then he had to bring it to his local tank builder to pack and ship so that took another week.
But it made it just in time for xmas which is all i needed. :)

Been working my butt off over the last week!
TONS of plumbing... and replumbing. Freakin leaks... I never have leaks. Well, never say never. :tape2:

But over the last couple days I got all my rock and a lot of my coral and fish back in the tank.

Here's a really quick iPhone vid.
I just realized I could actually edit the vid on my iPhone. Who knew?!

I still have some coral to get in the tank.
Fish too.
A lot of the big colonies I've decided to break up and go back to mini colonies and frags.
Trying to place large colonies in a new scape is too hard.
Even my big frogspawn I cut in like half.

And man, trying to make the scape interesting in a 24" front to back tank is a pain in the butt!

Still working in the fish room.
Woke up this morning to a flooded garage (outside the fish room) because I had moved my mixing station back into place and somehow the RO/DI connection got loose, so as it refilled last night it started leaking.

I think I finally fixed all my plumbing leaks.
Had to replumb part of one of the drain lines today.
Lowe's freakin loves me, and my wife is ready to kill me.
Good news is the beananimal is working awesome and I get a siphon in just a few seconds.

Now I'm starting to plumb in the frag tank.
Need to move my CaRx over, just waiting on a few bits to arrive later this week.
The profilux is mostly moved over but still working on that.
The cabinetry trim was replaced around the tank, just needs to be caulked/painted.
Lots to do still! But at least the tank is running again! :)

Is that a Maxspect Gyre I see on the end? I have a pair of them and use my apex to swap them every hour to change the rotation. What speed are you running it at?
