Just wow, I don't run triton but run a 180 G refugium only, no floss, socks, skimmer or reactors, last waterchange about 4 months ago, people need to pay more attention to refugiums IMO.
Great tank. :)

Dennis, is the algae used for nutrient export? It seems to me if you are having to dose no3, then removing some algae would have your tank stop needing you to dose. I ask because I wanted to add chaeto to my sump but since I am having to dose no3, I never did.

About how many gallons would you say the chaeto section of your fuge is? Thanks! (I am thinking about the future of my tank as far as a fuge goes ;) )

Thanks! And yeah, my previous 200g had a good size refugium and I had the same issue with n03 being pretty much undetectable and p04 being really low with no GFO.
You should start a thread on your tank and post some pics!

Yes. And probably yes. lol :D
I still need to acquire a bunch more fish and I'm only feeding the tank once a day. Not a ton of nutrients going in yet.
Hopefully it balances out more eventually.

SO awesome! That is some fine-looking macro! :D

The fuge is 21" x 13" with 16.5" of water so right around 20g.

Thanks, and welcome to R2R. :)
Evap doesn't seem bad. Couldn't tell ya how much though because I run an ATO from my 45g fresh water container and I sometimes use that water for my office nano too.

Thanks so much! It really seems like it is making a difference with nutrient export...I don't have many fish now but plan on adding quite a few to my tank in the future. If I am not mistaken, a properly setup fuge would allow for me to possibly cut down a little on water changes, right? Thanks so much! (Sorry for getting a little off topic)

Just went through this whole thread. Really amazing. Thanks for taking the time to document the process for us.

Where did you purchase your sponge and gorgonians? I am currently looking for some.

D2mini what's your photo period length. I really do like the ab+ but it's relatively short 8 hours from what I remember default when it came out on the coral labs PDF.

Those were all included with The Package from Tampa Bay Saltwater

I've got 8 hours of full intensity, plus 1.5 hours ramping up in the morning and 1.5 hours ramping down in the evening.
This week I also changed a couple hours at the end where it transitions to a more white/yellow light so I can see the real colors of the coral.
The AB+ program is a little bluer than I'd normally run my tank.

Amazing set up! Looking forward to reading more updates!
Thanks! :)

Why the little "ramp up" at the end?

Why the little "ramp up" at the end?
Are you looking at the individual colors?
If so, after my hour or two of whiter light, that's the blues are returning to the standard AB+ spectrum.
Overall intensity stays the same.

Beautiful tank, as expected.

Just picked up the same grow light for my fuge. Looks like we have about the same clearance height-wise but how did you end up mounting yours? The metal wire it came with seems to be a pain in the butt to use. Have picture of it?

Just two little eye hooks in the ceiling of the stand.
Works great with the supplied hanging kit.
