The Dalmatian Dogface Pufferfish is a hardy, personable marine species that thrives in large, well-maintained aquariums with stable water quality and plenty of swimming space. A minimum tank size of 120 gallons is recommended, as these puffers grow large and produce a heavy bioload. They are generally peaceful but may nip slow or small tankmates, so choose robust companions. Provide a varied, meaty diet including Gamma shrimp, clams, squid, krill, and hard-shelled items to help wear down their continuously growing teeth. Intelligent and interactive, they quickly recognize their keepers and make engaging display fish when given a stable, spacious, and safe environment.
