Generally not but May be going after food particles
I had a 3 stripe damsel that developed a taste for SPS.
He was removed!
When I first saw it, I thought it was just eating dead flesh off the sps. Come to find out through observation, he was the reason dead flesh started because he was eating the corals.
So while it's not really common for them to eat coral...
It Can and in my case Does happen.
