I just want to thank you for sharing your build. While my 125 Cadlight is plumbed somewhat similarly, I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your plumbing.
One question,
Why have your emergency drain go into the sump drain section instead of just straight down into a compartment? Wouldn't splitting your drain to both sump inputs lead to better efficiency?

Well Red Sea has them going into the same section. When I bought the custom triggers sump it came with a plate for 2 1” pipe to go into the same section as well, that why I just made them go into the same section.
I don’t think the emergency drain, would make it run any more efficient in another section of the sump. Water doesn’t flow down the pipe, and haven’t had an emergency yet where it was needed (yet). Hope that answers you’re question. Glad I could inspire you, thanks for checking out the build.

I'm about to set up a 180 gallon reef and your tank is a amazing template. If it's still up and running would love to see updated pictures.
