I would like to start by saying thanks to everyone on this thread that helps other people out. I have been in this hobby for 7 years and still feel like a newbie. At least I am just now getting to where I can enjoy my tank like I should. I have battled several different "pestilence" and have come to terms with/fixed some stuff. There are so many pitfalls in this hobby. I would like to share my tank as it is now and I welcome any feedback.
I like to drink my coffee and watch my tank (and reed reef2reef) in the mornings. As you can see I built my tank into the wall. This is the first tank I ever bought and had it on a stand for a long time before it went into the wall.
I beat my bryopsis and have the aiptasia under control and my rockwork is at its best. I aspire to add some LPS and maybe some SPS but have had a few failures that have made me timid to spend a lot of money on corals. I purchased an sps about 6-12 months ago and it looked great when it arrived and simply died over a few weeks. I got some red zoas from another reefer and they just died. I decided to focus on some equipment upgrades before I purchase any more corals. I have not added any livestock to my tank for 6 months now I think. I am trying to focus on what will make my tank parameters like pH, Ca and Alk more stable. My salinity is pretty good. I am building a LED light fixture that I will try to see if I can get better growth out of the hammer and candy cane. My light right now is a coralife fixture that has 2 power compact bulbs (actinic) and 2x150 W MH bulbs. More to come.

I really want to add more color to my tank............so as for my vision for this tank I guess that is it. I am upgrading my controller so I can graph the temp and pH, then take steps to stabilize these values the best I can.
Here is the light I built for my sump...........jury is still out on these "grow bulbs" they have been on for about 2 weeks.
Here is the inside of my fish room.........maybe when I get the rest of the hobby down I will make it look nicer. It is nice to have a space for the equipment sprawl.
