Hello
I’m doing the Dr Tim’s fishless cycle. I’m worried if I stalled the process

Ammonia is 2.4

Nitrite is 2.0

Nitrate is 40

Am I on the right track ? When should I see that ammonia drop ?

Hey, need some information please can’t view your attachment

What’s in your tank substrate,live rock,dry rock?
What did you use for your ammonia source?
Did you do any water changes?
What test kits are you using?

I’ve used Dr Tim’s for all the produce so the electrifying bacteria and ammonia together. 33 gallon max nano xl
I meant how high did you dose ammonia at the start you say it now reads 2.4 as per dr Tim’s instructions they say dose ammonia day1 max 4drops per gallon that should have gotten you close to 2.0 my thought is you may have overdosed and stalled

You are reading nitrite so the cycle definitely started. My advice you have two choices be patient and wait it out a little longer for do a water change and monitor to see if it progresses any further

Well I did 115 drops of ammonia for the 33 gal tank which is under dosing even. I considered the live rock amount that I have in there. I didn’t don’t 133 which was recommended but I think I’ll give it a few more days then I’ll do the water change! Thanks for the input and help!!!

Your probably fine it takes time also high nitrate could also throw off the nitrite readings a 20% water change might help here you want to see that nitrite turn nice and light blue then redose your ammonia to 2ppm and if it clears in 24 hours your ready for fish goodluck

Wow I must have a old bottle I just read on the website after 2016 it’s 4 drops per gallon

Your tank empty is 33 gallons How much sand and stone did you add gota count for displacement this is probably why it overdosed the first time

This is what my tank looks like. Maybe I should just do 100 drops? Instead of the 120 ?

Do 75 let it mix up test if your API Ammonia is close to the green it should be enough you don’t have to hit 2pp dead on your just checking to make sure the ammonia is being processed

But before you add the ammonia what’s current nitrite reading is is blue or purple?

It’s purple at around 1.2-2ppm
