I have not updated this in like, forever.

Couple months ago, I randomly lost my female clown. Had some family over and she started to swim weird, upside down, stopped breathing. She did this once before. Starting to wonder if it was an oxygen issue. The last time was after family left also.
Anyway, I traded some coral Sunday for another clown. She's in qt now but seems really healthy. She came from someone who had 3 clowns and this one didn't fit in and was being bullied. I think this weekend she will go in an acclimation box. She looks like a designer but the guy didn't know, I will have to looks at some pics.

Tanks doing well, everything colored back up. I also started to dose trace. I won a kit at FFM.
Things colored up before dosing but I am noticing some improvements.
Now for crappy pics with dirty glass.

Sorry for your loss but your tank is beautiful. Where are you located in CT? I lived in Bethel in the 70’s. My father, stepmother and 2 brothers live in Westport and my sister and her family live in Southport. We get out there every year.

I'm in Haddam, just south of Middletown off route 9.

Westport /Southport are beautiful areas!
Pretty far from me.

Thank you for your kind words!

I dropped the clown in the display this past weekend in a acclimation box. It was released a couple days later. My male was extremely curious and they swam side by side.

The purple tang wasn't too happy about it.
Slapped it in the face. I guess it was a warning as it hasn't gone near it since.

The 2 clowns have not really been seen close together since but I'm hopeful.

3 months since my last update.
Crazy things happening around the house.
My stepson, wife and 1 yo daughter are now here permanently from Colombia. 4 years to do it legally, I would have never guessed that long.
The wife has to travel twice to Maine to deal with her ill mother. She is now trying dialysis as a last resort. Please keep her in your prayers.

The clown is doing great and fit right in. Though I did lose my Bimaculatus anthias.
Most likely me not feeding often enough. 4x plus a cube maybe not enough.

My reefbreeders strip I purchased is doing great, love it. I need another ad funds permit.

It's been 7 months since I have measured anything in the tank as far as parameters. I think I should get on that. Been saying that for a few months now. Nothing is dying so there's that...
I just add kalk once a week, er, if I remember. Apex pH meter ends up reminding me eventually. I also add my trace when I remember. Usually once per week.
I need to clean the tank a bit so I'll post pictures later after work.

OMG, what a nightmare!
I'm supposed to be heading to Maine right now to join my wife and my mother-in-law but my AC crapped out last night and it's in the 90s here. My fish tank currently is over 80° and my AC guy should be here in the next hour.
Luckily I can get it to run for 30 minutes every hour but when I'm at work my house gets pretty warm. I guess I should thank my lucky stars that happened before I left for Maine and not after.

I actually got home from work and did some testing tonight because I noticed past few days I have some burnt tips on some corals. Well, I'm not sure I would call him burnt tips. More like two corals were getting dark and algae growth a couple tips. It reminds me very distinctly like it could be almost like an infection. I seen corals do this before and if you don't clip the tips off that are affected it goes to the whole Coral.

Anywho, my testing ended up as follows
Calcium 423
Magnesium 1370
Phosphate 1.1
Nitrate zero
And last but not least
Alkalinity 5.6,
I had to check it twice cuz I didn't think it was true, but it is. This could be the source of my problems. I had some alkalinity from RPM laying around so I dosed enough to bring it up 1 dkh.

My skimmer was in pretty bad shape too so I clean that and I also had to do some bones into my calcium reactor cuz that was getting low. And while I was in there I also added some Mrs. Wages to my kalk reactor.
