Hey guys,

I'm getting a good deal on a used Reef Octopus 150SSS skimmer, and I was wondering if there is any way to replace the AC pump with a DC pump? Mostly looking for quiet operation over anything else.

Thanks!

Not sure what pump your skimmer uses but I just replaced the AC pump on my RedSea skimmer with the Sicce SDC PSK 1200. It’s soooo much quieter. Sicce has a few other DC models that might work for you.

The ac pump noise might be acceptable to you? The noise from my 110 ext ac pump is negligible to me.

Which RSK skimmer? I have the 300 and this is a very interesting option.
