I've been running three Current USA 3170 gph eFlux DC pumps in the sump of my 550g (freshwater) tank. Just returned home to discover that one of them has burned out. It’s past warranty so I need to buy a new one. Not sure what could have caused this - the controller was partially melted though and I guess I'm lucky I didn't have an electrical fire to deal with in addition to needing to replace a pump. Will reach out to Current USA and see if they have any thoughts on the matter...

I’ve liked the eFlux pumps up until today, so would certainly consider replacing with another of the same (waiting to hear what Currrent has to say). But I thought I'd pop over here and see if anyone could recommend a newer/better pump as a replacement. I’d want something that pushes around the same volume - 3000+ gph - one that is energy efficient and silent. And preferably with the same size connectors so I don't have to do too much plumbing. ;)

I'm running 3 jebao dcp return pumps and have been very happy with them. No wifi or app but I have no need for that on a return pump. A dcp 15000 would meet your flow needs. I run one on my WB 330.7. It moves a lot of water and I can't hear it over the flow in the sump. Also the dcp pumps are cheap enough I keep a backup up for each on the shelf.

I’m on the simplicity/jebao train as well. An lfs turned me on to them years ago stating that they just work, without ever being cleaned. The simplicity line (jebao) has us support which in my experience was great. I called them once stating a pump was making a very slight whine and that a deep clean didn’t resolve it. All I wanted was some advice on how to try to get it silent and it really wasn’t a big deal.. They just sent out a complete replacement with a pre paid return label. Only issue I really ever had was a power supply (somewhere between 4-5 years of use) which can be purchased on Amazon same day or overnight for under $30.
