I done a 20% water change yesterday evening, the tank temp was 26 degrees Celsius and after my water change it was 19 degrees Celsius because the water i put in was cooler as it was sitting outside in the shed.... anyways....

During the night at some point my clownfish jumped out the tank and died on the living room floor. Is this normal?

The other clownfish is still in the tank perfectly happy.

Is it normal for clownfish to jump out of tanks?

Depending on how dark it is in your room the clownfish might have lost orientation. A sudden burst of water flow near the surface can also make fish jump iirc. Clowns aren't really jumpers but it can happen, especially if they are swimming freely instead of hosting an anemone.

The drop in temperature might have caused additional stress and you need to avoid this in the future, but it probably wasn't the actual cause.

Not really, but they will. Possibly startled. Had one jump into my overflow box! A female. Thought she was a goner…. In the next moments I spied her spying me from inside the over flow box. I have a euro braced tank. (SCA)

One nice thing about the brace is it keeps fish inside a bit better than no brace or just a plastic rimmed tank.

I lost a lot of fish to jumping before I added a mesh lid to the tank.

Any fish can jump if startled.

Why do fish jump?
Is it because their not happy in the tank or with the water conditions

I don't think the change in water temp will make them jump, I always use colder water for water changes.

Without knowing anything at all about your tank, the most common reason to jump IMO is because of aggression from other fish.

When a fish jumps out of the water, it doesn't know that it won't land BACK in the water. The Ocean is a pretty big place.
