I had bought the rocks for my current scape from a tank owner who had to shut his tank down due to a leak. When I purchased the rocks almost 2 years ago, they were completely dry. By now perhaps the timeline isn't as important, my point being that I have these leftover rocks from that day that I'd like to incorporate into the tank. Would it be an issue to just pluck em into the DT as dry rock?

That's not a lot of rock. If it were me, at the most I'd just dump it in a 5-gallon bucket with some very hot water and pour in a bottle or two of hydrogen peroxide... just to see what might loosen up and come out after a few hours. But after being dry for 2 years already, even that might be completely unnecessary. (My 2-cents. Best wishes!)

Rinse them off good and put them in, no harm done at all. Better yet if you have a sump place them there for a few weeks first, that will let them get a bacterial slime growing on them and not be as prone to growing nuisance algae after you put them into your tank.

Cherish those pieces you have, they look like Fiji rock. I know rock well, I've got 2000 lbs of dry OG Pukani that I'll use for something sooner or later lol.

I recently put 5-6 pieces of dry Pukani into my existing tank, they are a long ways from looking like the rest of the rocks but with time they will blend in. They are already growing some green algae on them.

Wow! Good to know. A good chunk of the aquascape in my tank(s; i have two) might actually be out of this kind of rock. I practically got all the rock I've ever used for them from this guy apart from the 10lbs of gulf live rock.
