Dead peppermint shrimp. Do I get another?

Hey all!

I got a peppermint shrimp 3 days ago. While I was drip acclimating it it molted. A day later I added a fire shrimp. The next day I found the peppermint shrimp dead after watching it seem healthy all day. They were in a 10 gallon qt with rockwork. Everything else seems healthy. Of the inverts in the qt so I feel like it wasn't water quality. 8 didn't see any direct confrontation of the shrimp but they both clearly liked a specific cave in my qt. I want a peppermint shrimp as I have seen aiptasia that I remove but feel as though may be lurking. My DT hiding zones are pretty limited with only one central cave. I have a couple questions. Did it likely just die from a molt problem or territorial dispute? Should I get another one, can they peacefully cohabitate a nano tank?

If it molted while still in the bag, I'd be checking your parameters.
Also, once it molts, they are very vulnerable as they are pretty much 'unprotected'.

It molted during acclimation. It also had a 2.5 hour transport which could've been part of it. Do you think it's worth trying another one?

I would try another and buy two just in case. I love them for aiptasia control in smaller tanks and they are entertaining when feeding.

Most likely. I've had luck mixing shrimp. In addition to the one in the video which is in with a coral banded shrimp I keep a peppermint with a fire shrimp in a 20g. They each have their own place.

I also have two peppermints in an 8g.

How is your rock structure in the 20 gallon? I have a tall with limited space caves which is why I'm worried they might fight

Didn't know peppermint shrimp were safe with coral banded shrimp!

I thought they eat ornamental shrimp.

I have a peppermint with a coral banded in one tank and a peppermint and blood red fire shrimp in another with no issues.

I might consider a coral banded for my own tank then.
