Dead spot?

It looks to me like it is a dead spot, but I don’t know. It has been this way for a few months now, but the size of the spot doesn’t change. The rest of the coral is growing fine. At night when the lights go blue, it releases some type of slime. Anybody know what is wrong with it and if there is anything I can do?

Looks like it got stung by a sweeper from that euphyllia

It was like that before the hammer was put there. And it isn’t actually as close as it looks, it is just the angle I took the picture from. There is actually a good three inches from the hammer to the spot.
