I am so smart (not!). I saved a ton of money on a whole house generator for many years, but the bill just came due. Our power was out three days after the hurricane and the little portable generator we had could not keep our refrigerator, and enough tank equipment running long enough to keep everything alive. So sad I cannot begin to list the losses.

I had planned to have a full reboot and cleaning soon, but not like this!

New plan…..1st - Get a capable generator that runs on natural gas. Even if not for the whole house, strong enough to run what we need to live, plus every circuit supplying my tank as long as needed. 2nd - Spend my retirement money on replacing my fish and corals. 3rd - Work until I am 80!

That sucks. In my house the fridge is last! I won't talk smart, you are enduring a bad time.

Beer is first in my house

Sorry for your loss OP. Don't worry we are being forced in EV's so you will always have power now right. They promise us it's true.
