Hello,

I recently added two corals to my display that is intended to be an SPS-only system due to the high-flow and high-light environment that I have created. I added a browned Seriatopora and a browned Acropora over the recent weekend, which have had nice polyp extension since.

I live near a local farm that aquacultures their corals, and they are selling many Green Slimer frags for $20. I love the coloration of the corals, but I’m not sure how they will grow or look in a system after they have exceeded the typical size of frags.

My display is pictured below, along with PAR measurements for reference.

I would love to see photos of a Green Slimer in your system, if you have any, so that I can get a better idea of their typical growth patterns, shapes, and sizes relative to other corals.

Thank you!

They grow like weeds toward the light, here is a pic from my old tank:

I already fragged it 3 times on my new tank because it was shading slower growing SPS.

Cheers!

I found a picture before I clipped it on my current build:

Weird growth pattern; it reached over another coral then started growing out horizontally.

Cheers!

Green slimer pics  I cut mine down to a nub, finally got tired of it, but until then let it grow pretty much out of control. If you're good at growing Acros this one will be a royal pain in the butt to keep trimmed, and it slimes, and it stinks. But they are fun for a while.

Took the LFS over two months to sell all the pieces. They may still have a couple.
